Sikena Awadu is an 8 year old girl living in Northern Ghana. Medical complications when she was a young child resulted in Sikena losing the lower parts of both of her legs, her left hand and 3 fingers on her left hand. Despite this Sikena has shown remarkable strength and courage and is attempting to live a normal life with her family.

Since this project was initiated in 2007, Create Change has witnessed change in the lives of over 300 girls who have a dream of getting an education so they can pull themselves and their families out of poverty. Help to show the world what a girl can do if she is given a chance.

Girls in Ghana do not often get the chance to finish secondary school, let alone the opportunity to attend a post-secondary institution. Meet some of Ghana's brightest young women, who dream of going to university and having a better life.
